Eric.ed.gov – Technology Engineering in Science Education: Where Instructional Challenges Interface Nonconforming Productivity to Increase Retention, Enhance Transfer, and Maximize Student Learning

eric.ed.gov har udgivet: Technology Engineering is an innovative component of a much larger arena of teaching that effectively uses interactive technology as a method of enhancing learning and the learning environment. Using this method to teach science and math content empowers the teacher and enhances the curriculum as the classroom becomes more efficient and effective. Although the most modern technology–enhanced content is available for classroom deployment, this study suggests that various challenges arise that can delay a fully productive and successful integration of technology in the science classroom. In this study, seven urban school science teachers, incorporated technology-enhanced inquiry-based modules into their lesson plans to determine the overall effectiveness of technology integration in their classrooms. This paper examines how Technology Engineering helps students to understand scientific phenomena, despite hindrances within… Continue Reading

tandfonline.com – Markov Processes: Exploring the Use of Dynamic Visualizations to Enhance Student Understanding

tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Finding ways to enhance introductory students’ understanding of probability ideas and theory is a goal of many first-year probability courses. In this article, we explore the potential of a prototype tool for Markov processes using dynamic visualizations to develop in students a deeper understanding of the equilibrium and hitting times distributions. From the literature and interviews with practitioners, we identified core probability concepts, problematic areas, and possible solutions from which we developed design principles for the tool and accompanying tasks. The tool and tasks were piloted on six introductory probability students using a two-person protocol. The main findings highlight that our tool and tasks seemed to assist students to engage with probability ideas, to develop some intuition for… Continue Reading

Eric.ed.gov – Development of Learning Videos for Junior High School Math Subject to Enhance Mathematical Reasoning

eric.ed.gov har udgivet: This study aimed to develop Mathematics learning media in the form of learning videos in order to enhance the reasoning abilities of students of Mathematics Education Study Program.. This study used the development model to construct products in the form of learning videos on topics like Surface Area of Cuboid, Cube, Prism and Pyramid. To achieve this purpose, the ADDIE, Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation, development model was used, In this study; the steps conducted only reached the Development stage. Based on the validation of media experts, the percentage of the feasibility of learning media obtained was 95.15%. After being converted into a scale conversion table the percentage of the achievement level of 95.15% was in very good criteria. This proved that the learning video on… Continue Reading
