tandfonline.com – Parental school satisfaction in the context of segregation of basic education in urban Finland

tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: ABSTRACT ABSTRACT This article examines the implications of the school choice policy, which has contributed to the segregation of basic education in urban Finland, by analysing the connection between the socio-economic status (SES) of schools’ student populations and parents’ satisfaction with their children’s schools. The 318 participants were parents of lower secondary school students attending socio-economically affluent, average, and disadvantaged schools in three Finnish cities. Multiple indicators multiple causes modelling, with school SES and parental education as covariates, was used to test the hypothesis that a school’s higher SES is connected to higher levels of parental school satisfaction with different aspects of the school’s functioning. tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: Abstract Abstract The present study assessed the prevalence of satisfaction with work-related achievements in a random sample 860 Brunei public and private sector employees representing both genders. In addition, workers in the Brunei-Muara district were also more satisfied than their counterparts… Continue Reading

tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: Abstract Abstract The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) represent an unprecedented change in American education. As an increasingly integral part of the school accountability movement under No Child Left Behind and Race to the Top, responsibility for implementing CCSS rests largely with school leadership. One important factor in the success or failure of these efforts is the perceptions and experiences of the teachers who will ultimately employ CCSS in the classroom. This survey study examined teachers’ views of CCSS implementation, teaching conditions, collaboration, and job satisfaction. Factor analysis revealed that the openness and activeness of school leadership had a significant effect on teachers’ perceptions of implementation, suggesting that attention to these aspects of leadership is an important consideration during transition… Continue Reading
