Parts of this article are drawn from his book “This Is Not a Test: A New Narrative on Race, Class, and Education.” In this article he shares his concern for the lack of representation of black and Latino people, especially males, especially as teachers. He notes that while some work as principals and district administrators, others are third-party vendors, education lawyers, and professors in institutions of higher education.
