eric.ed.gov har udgivet: This report summarizes the thirteenth survey of states by the National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO) at the University of Minnesota. Results are presented for 49 states and 6 of the 11 unique states. The purpose of this report is to provide a snapshot of the new initiatives, trends, accomplishments, and emerging issues during this important period of education reform as states documented the academic achievement of students with disabilities. The framework includes the notion of agency combined with Funds of Learner Identity (FoLI): learning preferences that can be considered part of people’s Funds of Identity. The framework holds that students manifest agency to negotiate engaging learning experiences when the school’s affordances and constraints are considerably relatable to their FoLI and allow them to define themselves in desired ways. Data for the study included the Praxis 1 (reading, writing and math) scores and SAT (reading, writing and math) scores of African American students who attended a minority-populated institution between the years of 1998 and 2001. Sixty-four SAT math and 64 Praxis 1 math scores, 65 SAT writing and 65 Praxis 1 writing scores, and 68 SAT reading and 68 Praxis 1 reading scores were used in the statistical analysis and the scores were analyzed using the Statistical Analysis System (SAS). It begins with a discussion of knowledge and form, arguing that we need to reinvent the formal structures of academic knowledge production in light of the digital revolution. I then examine two sets of examples of the scholarly video essay: three from a videographic journal I edit and three from my own practice. Such examples allow us to rethink or even to reinvent the embodied situatedness of researchers from a new perspective: the audiovisual body.
