eric.ed.gov har udgivet: California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) received funding from National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program to recruit Noyce Scholars from upper-division science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors, graduate students, and professionals switched to STEM teaching from other fields (NSF DUE-0934944). The program purpose is to increase the number of highly qualified science and math teachers at high-needs schools. This report is based on multilevel quantitative and qualitative data from university records, program minutes, as well as individual-level information gatherings from Noyce Scholars and Advisors. In addition, the report design is grounded on a thorough review of updated literature to ensure its conformation to best professional practices. Many technology education (TE) teachers have readily adapted to recent changes and seek to educate a diverse group of students about the ever changing world of technology. However, there are some within the TE community that have been slow to react to curricular, social, and perceptual changes of the past two decades. eric.ed.gov har udgivet: The National Study of Charter Management Organization (CMO) Effectiveness is a four-year study designed to assess the impact of CMOs on student achievement and to identify effective structures and practices. An earlier report from this study documented the substantial variation in CMO student achievement impacts as well as variation in CMOs’ use of particular educational strategies and practices. That report noted that the most effective CMOs emphasize two practices in particular: schoolwide behavior strategies and intensive teacher coaching and monitoring. This report is designed to provide an in-depth description of the student behavior and teacher coaching practices of five high-performing CMOs that rely on these practices.
