Gendered Innovations employs methods of sex, gender, and intersectional analysis to overcome past bias and, importantly, to create new knowledge. It seeks to harness the creative power of sex, gender, and intersectional analysis for innovation and discovery. The operative question is: does considering these factors add valuable dimensions to research? Do they take research in new directions? Gendered Innovations: (1) develops practical methods of sex, gender, and intersectional analysis specifically for natural scientists and engineers; and (2) provides case studies as concrete illustrations of how sex, gender, and intersectional analysis leads to discovery. tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: Abstract Abstract Academic achievement is regarded an indicator of the success of individuals, schools, universities and countries. ‘Success’ is typically measured using performance indicators such as test results, completion rates and other objective measures. By contrast, in this article we explore students’ subjective understandings and constructions of success, and discourses about ‘successful’ students in higher education contexts that are renowned for being demanding and pressured. We focus particularly upon academic expectations, effort levels, and programme structures and cultures. Achieving top grades while undertaking a range of extracurricular activities was valorised in all contexts. Top grades… Continue Reading →

tandfonline.com har udgivet en rapport under søgningen “Teacher Education Mathematics”: ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Background: One of the strongly theorized areas of research associated with learning outcomes has been the approaches to learning. Few studies have been focused on examining the relationship between the approaches to learning medicine (ALM) and learning outcomes. Objectives: The objectives were: (1) to conduct psychometric testing of the ALM questionnaire; and (2) to examine the association between medical learners’ ALM and learning outcomes. Design: We developed the ALM questionnaire which was a modification of the Revised Learning Process questionnaire. We defined the learning outcome of each house officer as the class rank in his/her graduating class. Exploratory factor analysis was used to examine the factor structure of the ALM questionnaire. We conducted Pearson’s and Spearman’s Rank correlation… Continue Reading →
