The aim of this article is to explore multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups (PMGs) facilitated by senior academics as a knowledge sharing practice in doctoral education. Drawing from interviews with participants of PMGs at a Finnish university, we found that the participants perceived that cultures and practices of doctoral education in departments and faculties, as well as limited support from supervisors might hinder knowledge sharing. They highlighted that a flat hierarchy and confidential atmosphere supported by the multidisciplinary group composition promoted knowledge sharing and emotional support. eric.ed.gov har udgivet: The first goal of this study was to examine the impact of nine World Wide Web-based learning modules on learning as measured on both online module quizzes and in-class exams. The modules were designed to support fundamental concepts in entry-level college mathematics courses. The second and third goals of this study were to determine the learner characteristics and strategies that affect student performance on the nine Web-based learning modules. Data sources included: a demographic survey; nine Web-based instructional module quizzes; three in-class quizzes; three in-class, paper-based quiz surveys; an in-class final exam; an exit survey; and face-to-face interviews. Drawing on multiple narrative interviews with nine young adults with ADHD in Sweden, the present study explores their experiences and reflections concerning their years in compulsory school. Despite variations in the gradient of decline, time in school was described as a slippery slope, with rapid deterioration in secondary school. Participation in sports and cultural activities outside school emerged as strong supportive factors. The expectations placed on the individual in the school context and relationships with teachers were described as key hurdles. It focuses on mathematics course taking–the effectiveness of taking algebra in 8th grade and advanced math courses in high school for subsequent college enrollment–and planning strategies students used to prepare for college. The report also examines the involvement of students’ parents, teachers, and other “institutional agents” capable of helping them prepare for college. The results of the study offer both negative and positive findings concerning the experiences of first-generation students. The setting was a professional development experience in oceanography/marine science and paleoclimatology among 32 faculty from 2- and 4-year colleges. And what is the queer menopausal experience of therapy and the wider healthcare system? The existing literature examines lesbian lives, but there are no studies of the wider LGBTQ + population, particularly as clients in therapy. For this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 LGBTQ + identified participants. While some participants had positive experiences, practitioners overall were frequently unable to meet their needs, both in terms of menopause knowledge and understanding queer identities.
