The authors explore the literature, school/community context, student cases, and the ways in which classroom and school-wide practices are trauma-informed. Trauma-informed practices focus on individual students as well as whole classroom and school-wide initiatives, potentially benefiting all, not only those students experiencing trauma. At LMS, a community of care system, evaluation committee, tribe and village meetings, the democratic classroom approach, project-based learning, as well as focused enrichment and remediation are all initiatives that have demonstrated some success. In a purposeful effort to provide a resource to educators building new STEM Academies, this study provides both a review of scholarly literature and the interview results from five successful STEM Academy educators from across the United States. Data were collected from 432 participants in Saudi Arabia—185 in-service and 247 pre-service teachers. A statistical analysis was conducted using the following methods: Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), misfit analysis via Rasch modelling, and reliability Cronbach’s alpha coefficients. Good internal consistency coefficients were obtained for the TEIP scale and each of its three subscales (>.8).
