Twenty studies from 2008–2020 were reviewed: 17 had a single-subject design and three a group-comparison design. The studies included a total of 135 students with ID. Consistent with previous studies, the analysis showed that interventions with systematic and explicit instruction with feedback and the use of manipulatives are effective instructional approaches and strategies for students with ID. This study reveals that effective interventions are well-structured, high intensity learning sequences adapted to the students’ achievement level. Nevertheless, little is known about their long-term perceptions of this period. We conducted interviews and focus groups on the school experiences of 16 Portuguese adults with intellectual disabilities. Results show differences between older and younger participants in their accounts of social relations and educational methods, which result from changes in special educational policies in Portugal. Overall, members of both groups evaluate their school experience positively. Our results indicate that although there is a move towards more inclusive schools, discrimination is still prevalent. eric.ed.gov har udgivet: Developed in concert with twelve special schools (Prep to Year 12) in Queensland, this paper regarding reasonable adjustments that promote quality differentiated teaching practice in special education math classrooms represents the knowledge and expertise of fifty teachers in special education. Survey responses and empirical evidence suggest that three conclusions are warranted: 1) That a focus on reasonable adjustments which is highly individualised, comprehensive and ongoing, needs to be strengthened to positively affect student learning and progression; 2) Neither assessment of student learning in mathematics or failure to respond to the results is sufficient for making judgements about students’ learning; and 3) special education teachers do require strong knowledge and skill with differentiating their teaching practice to ensure that students access the curriculum at appropriate year levels. Direct instruction was used to the instruction of the basic summation skills of the students with mild intellectual disabilities. A multiple probe design across the subjects was used in this study. The participants included three students with mild intellectual disabilities in inclusive classrooms. They were second grader and their ages were 7-8 years old.
